Recently we had the special opportunity to have a lecture on the 'Lee Kun-hee Collection' by So-young Moon, Culture & Lifestyle Editor for Joongang Sunday, at the British Ambassador's residence. The British Ambassador's residence is the oldest among Korea's embassy residences, located near Deoksugung Palace! Ambassador Colin Crooks prepared a special buffet dinner for the evening before the lecture started. Through the lecture, we learned about what exactly is the Lee Kun-hee Collection is, why did it have such an impact on the Korean art world and people, the history of the beautiful Goryeo Dynasty paintings, the Inwangjesaekdo painting that can now be seen at the National Museum of Korea, and the works of modern art masters such as Baek Nam-soon, Lee Jung-seob, Park Soo-keun, and Kim Whanki. It also gave a new perspective on art collectors. Let's learn about it together through the video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DOM1PQMBysc |
