On March 29, Korea CQ had the Lecture ‘Globally Spreading K-beauty’ by Hyun Tae Kim, CEO of Ra Beauty Core at the Kuwait Ambassador’s Residence, located at Itaewon.

Members who participated were H.E. Jasem Albudaiwi, H.E. Omar Nahar, Hyun Tae Kim, James B. Bemowski, Susanne Bemowski, Francois Provost, Gee Chan Kwon, Jae Woo Park, Eun Ja Min, Myung Ja Kim, Bill Miner, Lissa Miner, Patrick Defranoux, Nathalie Defranoux, Junghwa Choi, Ian Jeong, Uloff Munster, Patricia Munster, Didier Beltoise, Sunny Han, Changmin Lee, Youngha Go, Min Sun Park, Kwiyeon Kim, Christophe Piganiol, Susan Ling, Kyung Sik Ham, Crystal Park and Jae Heun Kim. 

H.E. Jasem Albudaiwi gave a congratulatory message and officially welcomed CQ members. Following his speech, members had time to enjoy a video about the charms of Kuwait.

Then, we all watched the farewell video for Mr. James B. Bemowski, Vice chairman of Doosan Corporation, and Mr. Francois Provost, Vice Chairman of Renault China who will be leaving Korea soon. The video brought back precious memories, and all members were deeply moved.

Mr. & Mrs. Bemowski who have been CQ for 8 years, will go back to California, U.S. and Mr. Provost who became a CEO of Renault’s China business will move to Beijing, China.

Before the lecture, we enjoyed the delicious and unforgettable dinner specially prepared by H.E. Jasem Albudaiwi.

After ending the dinner with delicious dessert, lecture of Mr. Hyun Tae Kim was started.

Renowned hair designer and entrepreneur Hyun Tae Kim has been managing his own beauty salon Ra Beauty Core for 13 years, after he entered the beauty arena and became a top hair designer in 5 years. He presented a masterclass session at ‘L’ORÉAL BUSINESS FORUM’ as a first Asian, and directed Styling for top fashion designers at ‘Seoul Fashion Week’. Also, he was invited to 8 neighboring countries to spread K-Beauty.

Through Mr Kim’s explanation of the influence of hallyu, we learned how the ‘Korean wave’ started from Korean dramas and K-pop, which moved on to Korean food and the Korean language, eventually evolving to the ‘Korean life style’. It was also interesting to learn that increases in revisiting rates to Korea exponentially increases the economic value of hallyu.

Every member sympathized with the characteristics of Korea which has distinct four seasons that contributes development of Korean beauty.

Then, we had a time to get make-up and hairstyling from Mr. Kim and Mr. Kyung Sik Ham, a make-up artist, with three beauty key words; baby face, sexy and intelligent.

Lastly, the atmosphere warmed up when James Bemowski offered a pleasant toast, “For elegant and beautiful future”

We would like to thank H.E. Jasem Albudaiwi for his warm hospitality for giving us an opportunity to have an unforgettable night at his residence and offering us the wonderful Kuwaiti food. We would also like to thank all members who were able to take their precious time to attend the Korea CQ lecture.
