한국의 미와 프랑스 엘레강스가 어우러진 프랑스 대사관 개관식에 다녀왔어요! 근대 건축의 거장 르코르뷔지에에게 사사한 유일한 한국인 건축가 김중업이 1962년 설계한 프랑스 대사관이 복원되어 이제 서울의 새로운 랜드마크가 되었답니다! 최근 5년의 공사 끝에 드디어 공개된 프랑스 대사관의 개관식은 여러모로 각별했답니다. 이번 복원은 조민석 매스스터디스 대표와 프랑스에서 활동하는 윤태훈 프랑스 건축사무소 사티 대표가 공동으로 이루어낸 작품입니다. 개관식을 위해 방한한 카트린 콜로나 프랑스 외무부 장관과 한불클럽 회원들과 개관식 전에 회동이 있어 여러 이야기를 나눌 기회가 있었답니다. 필립 르포르 프랑스 대사 외 김건희 여사, 박민식 국가보훈처장, 장호진 외교부 1차관 등 여러 인사들이 참석했습니다. 오랜만에 더욱 원숙해진 마포 로르의 판소리 공연도 보고, 유튜버 빱도 오랜만에 만나 반갑고 즐거운 하루를 보냈답니다. 영상을 통해 같이 볼까요? The French Embassy in Korea recently newly re-opened after 5 years of construction. The building was finally unveiled, and I was honored to be invited to the inauguration ceremony. The French Embassy was designed in 1962 by architect Kim Chung-up, who studied under architect Le Corbusier, and the building is known for its blending of Korean beauty with French elegance. This restoration was a joint work by architects Min-suk Cho of Mass Studies and Tae-hoon Yoon of Sathy. Catherine Colonna, Minister of Foreign Affairs of France, French Ambassador Philippe Lefort, First Lady Kim Keon Hee, Minister of Patriots and Veterans Affairs Park Min-shik, and First Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Chang Ho-jin, attended the event as well. It was also wonderful to see the pansori performance by Mafo Laure, and see YouTuber Pape - both who I hadn't seen in a while. Shall we watch it together through the video?
