무의식세계로 사진여행 떠나다 ! 초현실 사진의 거장 랄프 깁슨의 세계를 오감으로 느끼려 부산 해운대 랄프깁슨 사진미술관을 찾아왔어요. 그의 사진을 보면 꿈과 현실을 넘나들어 저도 모르게 무의식의 세계에 이르는 것 같아요. 최근 랄프 깁슨 사진 미술관이 오픈되고, 이어 고은 사진 미술관에서 'Salon litteraire" 전시명으로 랄프 깁슨이 프랑스를 장기간 방문하며 찍은 사진들을 모은 미술전이 열려 수 많은 사진 매니아들의 관심을 불러 일으켰는데요. 데자뷰, 몽유병자 그리고 바다에서의 삶이라는 3가지 주제로 구성한 '블랙 3부작'과 프랑스를 여행하면서 찍었던 50년간의 아카이브를 엮어 만든 'Salon Littéraire'로 구성된 이번 전시에서 흑백사진의 진수와 시대 문화를 반영하는 사진의 묘미를 제대로 경험했습니다. 특히 블랙 3부작에서는 꿈과 현실을 넘나드는 몽유병, 어디선가 본 듯한 데자뷰, 현실 공간에서 사람과 사물이 재현하는 모션에 주목한 바다에서의 삶이라는 주제를 통해 ‘현실은 추상의 가장 순수한 형태’라는 랄프 깁슨의 철학을 실감할 수 있었답니다. 또 랄프 깁슨의 인터뷰와, 방한했을 때 기타연주도 직접 하셨던 영상도 볼 수 있었는데요, 사진이 전해주는 추상과 상징의 세계를 영상을 통해 만나볼까요? I recently visited the Ralph Gibson Museum of Photography in Haeundae, Busan to experience the world of Ralph Gibson, the master of surrealist photography. The Ralph Gibson Museum of Photography recently opened, and also the Ralph Gibson Photography Art Exhibition at the Goeun Museum of Photography, drawing interest from many photography enthusiasts. The essence of black and white photography and the culture of the times are presented in this exhibition. The exhibition has the 'Black Trilogy', which consists of three themes of déjà vu, somnambulist, and days at sea. At the Goeum museum, the exhibition was titled 'Salon Littéraire', which is a compilation of photos taken during 50 years of his travel in France. I experienced the beauty of reflecting on photography. The exhibitions show that 'reality is the purest form of abstraction' and I could truly feel the philosophy of Ralph Gibson.
