Dear Korea CQ members,

I hope you are enjoying the nice weather of wonderful Monday.

On June 18, Korea CQ June’s wine club was held at Cornerstone, a luxury restaurant at the Park Hyatt Seoul.

June’s wine club was conducted by the generous support from Eugene Bang, Country Head Director of DBS Bank Korea, member of Korea CQ 15 and Sherry Sungwon Hwang, Executive Director of DBS Bank Korea, member of Korea CQ 17. 

James Bemowski, Jean Manuel Spriet, Sandrine Spriet, Bill Miner, Lissa Miner, Christophe Piganiol, Susan Ling, Didier Beltoise, Do Won Seol, Min Sun Park, Hyung Taek Hong, So Yoon Park, Si Eun Song, Joohyun ha, Hyun Ju Lee, Jeong Ug Hong, Ian Jeong, Jungwha Choi were among the participants who attended the dinner.

Cornerstone, hotel’s main restaurant with picturesque view of Seoul through the floor-to-ceiling windows, is specialized in grilled meats and seafood prepared in wood-burning ovens, home-made pastas and desserts.

Members arrived at the Cornerstone on time and share the stories of each other during the reception with enjoying champagne 'Bellavista – Franciacorta Cuvee Brut’ which means ‘Beautiful View’ in Italian. 

The dinner started with roasted mini peppers with goat cheese and rucola and ‘Fontanafredda – Gavi di Gavi’, a wine which is full-bodied, well-balanced and dry with youthful fruit flavors.

Members enjoyed Spaghetti Scoglio with scallop, clams and prawn, specially recommended by Cornerstone with ‘San Felice – Chianti Classico Riserva ,Il Grigio,’ which has deep ruby red color with the typical notes of sweet violet and wild red berries. Every members was delighted to the aromas of the wine. 

Following, Australian Wagyu Sirloin and Marinated Pot Roaste with ‘Pira Luigi – Serralunga Barolo,’ red wine from Piemonte, Italy were served which had aromatic with fresh and elegant notes and garnet red color, made wine club amicable.

Everyone had joyful time by taking turns relating the flavor of wines. Also, introduction of wine by Eugene Bang and explanation by Sherry Sungwon in Italian made the atmosphere more enjoyable.

Korea CQ June's wine club was ended with ‘Barone Ricasoli’ from Chianti, Italy.

Also, Eugene Bang shared the dessert wine he made and he will kindly gave out the wine to every participated members.

We sincerely appreciate Country Head Director Eugene Bang and Executive Director Sherry Sungwon Hwang for supporting valuable wines and the wonderful venue, also for all participants for making our wine club more enjoyable.

The upcoming wine club will be on September 10, 2015 sponsored by Cindy Yang, Managing Partner of NGS Korea. The details of event will be announced again in due time.
