Dear Korea CQ members,
 

On May 9, Korea CQ visited Hangwa Cultural Museum located in Pocheon.

Peter Bullen, Patrick Defranoux, Nathalie Defranoux, Mathieu Elie, Didier Beltoise, Hwang Haelyung, Park So Yoon, Cho Kurie, Sunny Han, Choi Jungwha participated. Also for the special guest, Doris Walchli Giraud; Cultural Attache of Swiss Embassy, Jung Tainam; Architect, Cha Younghee; Vice President of Lutronic, Hwang Jhungwon Vojir; Vice President of Lutronic, Hwang Hannah participated.
 

Every participants gathered at the lobby of Coex Intercontinental Hotel on time despite of early departure time.

Upon arriving at Hangwa Cultural Museum, Director Kim Kyu Heun warmly greeted our CQ members.

Then, we all went to the presentation room to listen to the welcoming speech of Director Kim Kyu Heun and the introduction of Hangwa Cultural Museum.

Director Kim Kyu Heun have started Hangwa business in 1981, opening Shingung Hangwa , and since then, his goal was to globalize Hangwa. CQ members could definitely feel the passion of Director Kim Kyu Heun.

After the introduction time, members had tour around the museum. Members all appreciated the beautiful color and shape of 250 different kinds of Hangwa exhibited in the museum. Also, members all learned about history and ingredients of Hangwa, and process to make Hangwa.

Following, we all went to the experience center to make Hangwa by ourselves. Member all enjoyed their first experience of making Hangwa. Especially, Peter Bullen decorated his Hangwa with 3 colors: white, green and orange, to represent the flag of Ireland.

After all the programs in Hangwa Cultural Museum was finished, we all moved to ‘Jeju Travel’ the hidden delicious restaurant in Pochoen where Director Kim have recommended. We all had delicious Kimchi Chub mackerel Jjim and grilled chub mackerel.

After the lunch, members went to Pyunggang Botanical Garden to appreciate the nature and feel spring breeze. Pyunggang Botanical Garden was founded by Lee Hwan-Yong, oriental doctor. He is the doctor for rhinitis that is using special component he found from elm tree. To revert his wealth to society, he organized this beautiful garden.

Pyunggang Botanical Garden is organized with 12 different theme gardens, and member all appreciated the true beauty of nature. We all could feel relaxed and take a rest we could not have from busy city life.

We sincerely appreciate Mr. Kim Kyu Heun, Director of Hangwa Cultural Museum for supporting Korea CQ visiting Hangwa Cultural Museum, also for all participants for making our Saturday more memorable!
