Dear Korea CQ members,
From October 17 to 18, Korea CQ members visited Jeollabuk-do Gochang and Gongju, the city which is renowned for its nature, history, and tradition.
Although we gathered in the early hours of Saturday morning, H.E. Arslan Hakan Okcal, Pinar Okcal, Patrick Defranoux, Nathalie Defranoux, Christophe Piganiol, Susan Ling, Jeng Ian, Cho Young Joo, Lee Jai Wook, Park Min Sun, Hong Hyung Taek, Oh Myung Hee, Lee Young Joo, Jung Tainam, Yang Cindy, Choi Jungwha, Didier Beltoise were punctual at the meeting point, without any delay.
All participants safely rode the bus, specially which was offered by the Maeil Dairies, and the bus headed for Gochang smoothly.
When the bus arrived in Gochang and Maeil Dairies’ Sangha factory, Kim Seon Hee, the CEO of Maeil Dairies and our host, warmly greeted each member. Also, Shim Jay Hyuk specially visited Gochang to meet Korea CQ members.
After enjoying colorful and healthy Korean food at the Maeil Dairies cafeteria, members moved to a place to make cream bread. Members all enjoyed making cream bread. After that, members looked around the Sangha farm which is planned to be open to public in March 2016.
Then our members were surprised to look heritages, life style, and Dolmen culture of Bronze Age, looking around exhibition halls. What is more, we took ‘Moro Moro’ train, which helped us have a close look at dolmen and take a special picture nearby it.
After that, we moved to the Korean restaurant ‘Masil’ for dinner. At dinner, we tasted delicious Hansik. With ‘Shin Bal Keun’ toast of Didier Betoise, and the ‘This member, forever, Remember!’ toast of Lee Jai Wook , the atmosphere got more enjoyable.
After having wonderful dinner, members moved to Gochang-eup fortress to appreciate the sightseeing. Then we took a rest and good sleep at ‘Healing County’
On the flowing day with bright sunshine, Korea CQ members had Korean Soup (Dried Pollack) & rice and bread (croissant) for breakfast and moved to Gongju.
Walking Gong mountain fortress; which the length is 2,600m. Members all could see beautiful view of Gongju with Geum River. After Gong Mountain Fortress, we all had noodle, Korean pancakes for lunch.
Then we went the see the royal tomb of King Muryeon. Inside the tomb of Muryeong, over 4,600 relics of Baekje Dynasty were found. Members all said ‘Wow’ for the size of the tomb.
After looking at the royal tomb of King Muryeong, we all moved to Magok Temple. When we arrived at the Magok Temple, Misan Monk greeted our members. Besides, we had a valuable opportunity to meet Chief Monk of Magok Temple.
During an hour, he told us about how he became a monk. Additionally, he advised us how we, as human beings, are constantly exposed to anguish and how to live wisely. Members all had chance to listen to the valuable lesson from Chief Monk.
Following the two-day trip to Gochang and Gongju, we departed for Seoul. Lastly, the Maeil Dairies surprisingly presented cheese and milk set as a special gift for everyone.
We thank to all our members for enjoying and participating in spite of busy schedules.
