Dear Korea CQ members,

Korea CQ had the Spring Welcoming Alumni Gathering on February 23, 2016.

Malaysian Ambassador H.E. Rohana Ramli kindly invited our members to her resident for this gathering.
 
CQ members arrived, clad in hints of yellow, the theme color of the night, and had time to catch up with each other over drinks.



 The gathering started with the welcoming speech of H.E. Rohana Ramli, followed by President Choi, Jungwha’s words of greeting in which new members of CQ 21 were introduced. A video of the CICI Korea 2016 award ceremony was then shown.



 Before starting with dinner, Calligrapher Mr. Byung In Kang explained the meaning of 'ip-chun-dae-gil', which translates to 'May this Spring come with a great blessing', and demonstrated how to write the word ‘flower’ in Korean using a calligraphy brush. Four of our members were given an opportunity to participate in this event and experience calligraphy first hand. 



After the calligraphy event, we all watched the farewell video for Mr. Michel Puchercos, CEO of Lafarge Halla Cement, and Ms. Frederique Puchercos who will be leaving Korea soon. They joined us at Korea CQ 7, and since then have shared many memories with CQ members. The video brought back precious memories, and all embers were deeply moved.



 A delicious and unforgettable dinner was specially prepared in Malaysian buffet style, generously organized by H.E. Rohana Ramli.



 As the dinner came to an end, we shared our members’ good news and congratulated each other.



 Afterwards we had the Noraebang time. Ms. Yoon Young Kim was first to start, and she sang ‘Diana’. Then Mr. Christophe Piganiol, Ms. Myung Hee Oh, Dr. Hakim Djaballah, Dr. Sharifah Haron, Ms. Crystal Park, Ms. Susan Ling and H.E. Rohana Ramli showcased their hidden talent respectively.

The best dresser award was given to Ms. Isabelle Tricaud who wore a stunning yellow dress. Congratulations!



 Then, we had lucky draw time. Once again, a big congratulations to all the lucky CQ members!

 

CICI would like to express gratitude to H.E. Jasem Albudaiwi, Mr. Jaechul Sung, Mr. Mark Chung, Ms. Julia Moon, Ms. Seon Hee Kim, Ms. Ho Jeong Lee, Ms. Jin Ha Kim, Mr. Yong Gwan Kim, and Mr. Didier Beltoise for sponsoring gifts for the alumni party.

We would also like to give special thanks to Ms. Seon Hee Kim, President of Maeil Dairies, for provided fruit and vegetable beverages as well for everyone.
 
More importantly, we especially thank H.E. Rohana Ramli for her warm and generous hospitality from giving us an opportunity to have an unforgettable night at her venue to offering us to taste the wonderful Malaysian gastronomy. Also we greatly appreciate Crystal Park for her outstanding interpretation help.
 
We also thank all members who were able to take their precious time to attend the Korea CQ Spring Welcoming Alumni Gathering.
