CCF 2014
CCF(Culture Communication Forum), aiming to communicate with the world
by offering essential Korean culture experience invited 16 cultural leaders from 16 different countries.
DAY1
The autumn sky was high and clear, welcoming the delegates from abroad.
On September 1st, we started off our day by visiting Dongdaemun Design Plaza (DDP),
a new history of design in Korea.
DDP with a modern edge transcending the notion of architecture made us see the flow of Korean art,
culture and architecture.
With expectation of the future of Korea that achieved the rapid growth and change in many respects,
we turn our steps toward the next destination.
Food is an essential tool to understand a culture. Our delegates enjoyed Korean traditional cuisine at Bicena.
There is a saying ‘a loaf of bread is better than the song of many birds.'
Colorful and neat Korean dishes gratified our eyes and tastes and everyone enjoyed the time.
After having a good lunch, we headed to the Samsung Museum of Art, LEEUM.
The delegates were so thrilled to see this modern art complex and were so amazed at
how the Korean companies are so passionate about culture and arts.
Then, we visited the National Museum of Korea to see Korean art as well as Korean history.
As experts in Art, all of the delegates appreciated the beauty of Korea and fell in love with Korean beauty.
Especially, we were pleased to hear from Catherine Chevillot, Director of the Rodin Museum
about the Gilt-bronze Maitreya in Meditation, Korean ‘The Thinker’ and realized the universality of culture.
The first dinner at Woonsan was amazing and we could know
how simple and delicious traditional Korean food is.
Our next destination after dinner was Changdeokgung Palace for the wonderful moonlight tour.
It is very unique to appreciate the special night time charm of the palace holding a cheongsachorong,
a traditional Korean lantern and walk around the palace.
At the night, the only CCF delegates could enjoy moving and impressive performances
such as Sanjo Dance and Pan So Ri at Yeongyung-dang
DAY2
On the second day, we started at Korea Crafts & Design Foundation to experience Korean calligraphy
from calligrapher Kang Byung-in.
As you can see, we were all absorbed in drawing a brush on the white Hanji. .
Later we visited Hyundai Card head office!
A huge thanks to JUNG Tae Young, the CEO of Hyundai, for welcoming us! ^^
Listening to the presentation by a staff from Hyundai Card, we could see that the company runs its business
based on design and have a very astounding welfare system for its employees.
It shows well how bright the future of Korean industry is.
Moreover, lunch at the Box in Hyundai Card surprised all of us.
Give it a big round of applause for its sensible lunch!
Visit to the Korean Furniture Museum!
Our delegates were unfamiliar with the wooden furniture at first,
but later they couldn't take their eyes off it because of the delicate beauty of wooden furniture.
The delegates meticulously took pictures to capture every details.
The ending the 2nd day tour at Congdu for dinner.
As time went by, the delegates found themselves becoming more familiar with the Korean culture.
DAY3
The 3rd day of CCF started with a grand discussion with 16 delegates from all over the world.
The topic of discussion was ‘Culture – Mirror and Trigger of Change’.
They agreed with the idea of fusing tradition and modern in order for culture to flourish.
We hope our cultural representatives to lead and support our world to become more culturally abundant.
The Highlight of CCF 2013 was the CCF Night.
LEE Yoonwoo, standing advisor at Samsung Electronics delivered Galaxy Tab S for our delegates.
Before dinner, there was a beautiful Korean Fan Dance by the National Dance Company of Korea.
Thanks to the Westin Chosun hotel, we had fantastic Hansik dinner.
Do you remember that Arirang melody from the Japanese Guitarist, Jiro Yoshida,
the song that touched all attendees' hearts
Music is communication, it is the international language that everyone can understand.
Of course, the rhythmical Nanta was exciting!
The time for lucky draw that everybody had been waiting for so long!^^
A big congrats to all our winners!
After the participation of 3 days event CCF, the delegates expressed
that they had an unforgettable experience and have made cherishing memories
about the Korean culture during the past three days,
