DAY1
CCF(Culture Communication Forum), which aims to communicate with the world by experiencing the essence of Korean culture invited 15 delegates from 15 different countries as the leaders of cultural area of each countries.
Do you recall the crazy, sizzling summer weather? Did God know that the pecial delegates were visiting Korea, the summer heat cooled down a bit just upon
their arrival.
On September 1st, the first day of CCF, We started off our day by visiting, whawon, Changdeok-goong.
At Changdeok-Goong, we were taking time machine back to Chosun Dyn asty, exploring 5000 years old history.
As you can see, I was restlessly taking pictures of our event to record every joyful moments! And they whispered that the pictures were for their personal memories and for introducing Korea to their peers and colleagues.
Food
is an essential tool to understand a culture.
At the moment, our delegates were enjoying Korean traditional cuisine at Siwhadam.
Who
did say that ‘a loaf of bread is better than the song of many birds’?
Has "taking pictures of food before
dining" become a global, trendy dinning etiquette? :P
Everyone seems to show respect for food by
harmoniously taking pictures before dining..
After having a good lunch,
We headed to the Samsung Museum of Art, LEEUM.
The delegates were so thrilled to see this modern art complex and
were so amazed at how the Korean companies are so passionate
about cultures and arts.
We
headed to Chungdong Theatre to watch the performance, "Miso".
Can
you notice our delegates in the back seats?
On stage is our Mexico representative, Luise Arreguin, who is also a choreographer
and a painter in Mexico. He is
imitating movements from the performers.
If I hadn't explained this all, you must have believed
that he was actually a one
of the performers, weren't you?
Have
you ever imagined wine with the Korean traditional food?
Now,
after actually trying one ourselves, we can confidently say "yes!"
This combination was indescribably delicious.
Wine and Korean foods actually
complement each other well.
Finishing
off the first day of CCF with Kang Leo’s Korean traditional cuisine and James
Suckling’s wine lesson.
DAY2
The
2nd day of CCF began with the visit to the Institute of Korean Royal
Cuisine.
HAN Bok-Ryeor, the president of this institute and the 3rd generation professional holder
is giving a thorough explanation about the Korean Royal
Cuisine.
It
was privileged to have such an opportunity to meet her.
Next
destination was Hyundai Card Building!
JUNG
Tae Young, the CEO of Hyundai Card welcomed us and gave us a presentation on
his company.
Listening to his presentation, The Hyundai Card company seemed to
have a very astounding welfare system for its employees.
Also the transparent walls for the CEO's
office and executives' offices were very refreshing and innovative.
Our delegates making a toast with a glass of Makgeolli,
a traditional alcoholic beverage native to Korea.
We
were having another traditional Korean lunch at Congdu.
Visit
to the Korean Furniture Museum!
but later they
couldn't take their eyes off it because of their delicate beauty.
The
delegates meticulously took pictures to capture every details.
The
ending the 2nd day tour at Yongsusan for dinner.
As
time went by, the delegates found themselves becoming more familiar with the
Korean culture.
DAY3
The
topic of discussion was "Old vs. New: Presenting the case for traditional
or
modern
culture’ - 'First Mover, Fast Follower?"
They
agreed with the idea of fusing tradition and modern in order for culture to
flourish.
We
hope our cultural representatives to lead and support our world to become more
culturally abundant.
The
Highlight of CCF 2013 was the CCF Night.
Two
children wearing Hanbok presented bouquets of flowers to our delegates.
He
said, “Every small effort Korean we have put together has brought the Korean
movie industry to here.”
Let’s
hope the growing future of Korean movie industry!
Do
you remember that Arirang melody from the Brazilian Samba Singer?
It
was really touching to see us becoming one with singing Arirang.
Music
is communication, it is the international language that everyone can
understand. J
Lastly,
fun time! The time for lucky draw that everybody had been waiting for so long!
A
big congrats to all our winners!
After
the participation of 3 days event CCF,
the delegates expressed that during the three days they have made unforgettable experience and memories about the Korean
culture, and they appreciated the cultural aspect of being all together.
And
they eagerly promised to work as bridge builders to spread Korean culture to
the rest of the world.
