CCF 2013 Statement of Purpose

(September 1 to 3, 2013)

o As a prelude to the G20 Seoul Summit which was held in 2010, CICI hosted "C20 "(Culture 20) in 2010. Spurred by the success of C20, which later became CCF, CICI hosted the culture summit meeting as an annual event from 2011.

o CICI is organizing the 4th CCF 2013 to give cultural figures from C20 countries an opportunity to experience various aspects of Korean culture. CCF culminates in a lively discussion which aims to spur the exchange of opinions about culture, communication and harmony of different cultures.

o CCF 2013 will be held in Seoul, Korea for three days from September 1 to 3 in 2013. During this period, all delegates will be able to experience the allure of Korean culture through their five senses by visiting historic sites, tasting authentic Korean food and watching Korean performances.

o CICI hopes that CCF delegates will be inspired by their cultural experiences in Korea and play a vital role in introducing Korea in their home countries through articles, media interviews and other channels. CCF also aims to communicate interactively through cultural exchanges between Korea and the delegates' countries as well.

o As this year marks CICI’s 10th anniversary, CICI would like to solidify the identity of Korean culture in the world. To this end, CICI will provide a forum at which there will be a free exchange of opinions regarding ways to improve Korea’s image in the future, following the Hallyu syndrome in 2012. In addition, the winners of the second Communication Contest hosted by CICI last April will participate to share the views of the young generation.

o CCF would like to be a stepping stone between Korea and the rest of the world by inviting cultural leaders from C20 to experience Korean culture and exchange opinions about culture and communication. Moreover, we hope Korea will become a leading country in the field of culture and communication through CCF. CCF will showcase Korea’s cultural competitiveness to the world and will play a major role in improving the image of Korea.
