The
12th Culture Communication Forum, CCF 2021, which aims to introduce the essence
of Korean culture to the world and to communicate with different cultures
around the globe, was held from from August 31 to September 1, 2021.
In
CCF 2021, intellectuals from overseas and opinion leaders living in Korea,
including Ambassadors, foreign and Korean culture communication leaders, virtually
discussed about cultural communication as a way to share core values in the
international community.
On
the first day, Cedric O, French Minister of State for Digital Affairs, opened
the discussion with welcoming remarks, which was followed by a keynote
presentation by Delphine O, Secretary-General of the UN Generation Equality
Forum.
Columnist
and editor of Corriere della Sera Beppe Severgnini and Argentine journalist Alicia
de Arteaga gave insightful presentations on the topic as well. After the Zoom
presentations, discussion was held together with all the panelists; Kwang-Hyung
Lee, President of KAIST; Michael Reiffenstuel German Ambassador; Bruno Figueroa,
Mexican Ambassador; MJ Kim, photographer and director; Kim Won-soo Chairman of
the International Advisory Board of Future Consensus Institute; Sanghyup Kim,
President of Jeju Research Institute; Jie-ae Sohn, Visiting Professor at Ewha
Womans University; Sebastien Falletti, Asia correspondent for Le Figaro.
On
the second day, Scott Miller Berry Canadian Film maker, Miriam Sun Co-founder
of MoCA Shanghai and Rod Fritz Director of Media Relations of AfriMedNetwork
gave presentations through Zoom.
Afterwards,
panelists in Korea also gave their thoughts and discussed on the topic; Dinesh
Patnaik, Director General of the Indian Council for Cultural Relations; Eric
Teo, Singaporean Ambassador; Bruno Figueroa, Mexican Ambassador; Kim Won-soo
Chairman of the International Advisory Board of Future Consensus Institute; Seung-whan
Song, Executive Artistic Director of PMC Production; Sanghyup Kim, President of
Jeju Research Institute; MJ Kim, photographer and director; Jie-ae Sohn,
Visiting Professor at Ewha Womans University; Sebastien Falletti, Asia
correspondent for Le Figaro; Didier Beltoise, President of Cs.
Dinesh
Patnaik, Director General of the Indian Council for Cultural Relations gave a
heartfelt closing address covering all the discussions.
CICI
will continue to make efforts to promote Korean culture to the world and spread
the power of communication through the Cultural Communication Forum.
