Posted by webmaster Hit 5621 Date 2016.08.24

The Corea Image Communications Institute will hold the "Culture Communication Forum or CCF 2016" in Seoul for three days from Sept. 4, the organization said on Tuesday. The forum entails a program that will invite leaders of culture from around the world, introduce culture sites in Korea, and hold discussions. The annual forum marks the seventh event this year since its inception in 2010.

Jazz vocalist and composer Tim Strong will represent the U.S. at the CCF 2016, while barista Paul Bassett famous for the café franchise "Paul Bassett" will come from Australia. Also in attendance will be New Zealand and Maori musician Tama Waipara, Charles-Antoine de Vibraye, representative of Cheverny Castle (the Château de Cheverny) in France, and Ana Cerrano, chief digital officer at the Canadian Film Center. Ballerina Kang Sue-jin, head of the Korean National Ballet, will be representing Korea.

They will have a time to experience Korean clothing, dining and housing by visiting Changdeok Palace, the National Museum of Korea and other places for two days from Sept. 4. They will hold a forum entitled "What is the Source of Power for Cultural Communications? Link!" at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Seoul’s Yongsan district on the morning of Sept. 6. The participants will discuss which elements of Korean culture are similar to their cultures, and which cultural contents they want to exchange with Koreans. The Night of Cultural Communications scheduled in the evening of the same day will bring together more than 300 leaders including Yoo Il-ho, deputy prime minister for economic affairs, U.S. Ambassador to Korea Mark Lippert, and Kim Dong-ho, head of the Busan International Film Festival organizing committee. At the event, the organizers will announce the result of a survey "Korea as Viewed by Foreigners, the World as Viewed by Koreans," which the Corea Image Communications Institute has conducted of more than 500 opinion leaders in Korea and overseas.

“The event will provide a venue where we can proactively promote Korean culture, whose stature has been elevated on the global stage, while having interactive communications with foreign representatives,” said Choi Jung-hwa, chairman of the Culture Communication Forum and professor of Hankuk University of Foreign Studies.
