Posted by webmaster Hit 77 Date 2017.12.08
Dear Korea CQ members,
I hope you are having a great day.
On December 7, Korea CQ Winter Welcoming Alumni Gathering was held in the Namsan 3 Room at the Grand Hyatt Seoul.
CQ members dressed in Red and Green, the dress code of the evening, arrived on time and had time to catch up with each other with a glass of champagne.

The gathering started with a welcoming speech by President Choi Jungwha.
Then, participants watched a short video clip introducing CICI so that members could look back at the enjoyable memories, while prospective Korea CQ members could learn what CICI and Korea CQ does to promote Korean culture to the world.
We then commenced the award ceremony to recognize those who passionately participated in Korea CQ forums to learn about Korean culture and to exchange different cultures.
Eugene Bang, Country Head Director of DBS Bank Korea, was awarded the Korea CQ Friendship Award. Erwan Vilfeu , CEO of Nestle, received the Korea CQ Hand-in- Hand Award. Last but not least, the Corporation Award was given to H.E. Peteris Vaivars, the Latvian Ambassador.
Congratulations to all of the awardees.

Next, members watched a farewell video for H.E Clare Fearnley , the New Zealand Ambassador who is leaving Korea soon and going to China. Through the video, all CQ members could see that she is one of the most passionate CQ supporters. Next, members watched a farewell video for H.E. Arslan Hakan Okcal and Pinar Okcal who are leaving Korea. Through the video, all CQ members could reminisce our memories with them. Following the video, H.E Clare Fearnley and H.E. Arslan Hakan Okcal delivered beautiful farewell speeches, reminiscing past CQ forums.
After the farewell speech, H.E. Peteris Vaivars , Latvian ambassador, Eugene Bang , Country Head Director of DBS Bank Korea, and Won-soo Kim, the former UN Under-Secretary General gave warm-hearted toasts and the dinner began.
Members had a very pleasant dinner Grand Hyatt Seoul had prepared for the evening.
Through the quiz night, we could feel the members’ passion towards Korea CQ Forums and their affection to the world culture. Ms. Jasmine B. Lee , Filipino-Korean Heritage Association (FILKOHA) President, was the winner of the quiz night.

Following the Quiz Night, participants played “Guess the Silhouette!” game where each team had to guess what the given silhouette image is. Members were separated by tables into six teams, Red, Green, Blue, Yellow, Purple, and Pink and participated in the game very passionately. After the heated rounds, Dr. Jae Woo James Park ‘s Red Team won the “Guess the Silhouette!” game.

Next, participants had Noraebang Time, the highlight of the night’s event.
Ms. Jasmine B. Lee , Filipino-Korean Heritage Association (FILKOHA) President kicked off the session by singing “Someone like you." H.E. Wei Kiat Yip, Singaporean ambassador, livened up the mood, singing a Korean song “By love,” showing off his singing ability and Korean skills. Mr. Byeong Eon Lee sung Neil diamond's "Sweet Carolina."  Ms. Joohyun Ha sang a song and impressed the listeners with her rich and sonorous voice.
After the vote for the best performer, the winner of Noraebang Time turned out to be H.E. Wei Kiat Yip, Singaporean ambassador, sung “By love”.
