Did you know that Hanji, traditional Korean paper, is used at the Louvre museum in France?! Last week, at the CICI Korea CQ forum held at the Italian Ambassador's residence, there was a special lecture by artist Lee Hae Eun on the globalization of Hanji. We learned about the history of hanji, the characteristics, how it is made, saw how they're modernized and used in Lee's works, and also learned about her work philosophy. We even had a special experience making fans with hanji! It was a special evening where we tasted delicious Italian dishes, and also had a special performance by magician Ed Kwon!
